Seven Year Itch book 4
By Jennifer Foor
I’ve heard if you can make it through the first seven years of marriage you’ve made it past the tough part and it’s smooth sailing.
Whoever said that was an idiot.
I’ve been married for seven years, and in that time I’ve waited for my immature husband to grow up and become a responsible man.
It still hasn’t happened, and I’m at the end of my rope. I need him to be a father to our child, not someone who needs his own toys to be content.
I want a partner, not a guy more concerned about his friends than his wife.
This is my marriage, and before I throw in the towel I’ve decided to do something drastic to make it happen.
I’m Shayla Vincent and this is my story.
Jennifer Foor has a way with writing the true emotions of a marriage and she doesn’t hold back one ounce with Because. From the moment I began reading this book, I understood exactly how both these characters felt. Their love, their unhappiness leapt off the pages and into my mind.
In Because, Foor gives you the story of a young married couple forced into adulthood as the result of an unplanned pregnancy. Over the last seven years these two have struggled to find their place as parents, as lovers, but also coming to grips with who they are now. This is a story of change, love, and a fight for family.
Typically when I read one of Foor’s Seven Year Itch books, I can take sides with one character over another and completely see where they are coming from with that particular book. That was not the case with Because. Not only did I understand from a wife and mother’s standpoint, I completely understood from the husband’s view as well which I think, sets this book apart from the rest.
I read Because in under two hours and I will tell you it’s not due to it being a short story, it’s not. It was because I was that connected to the story. It was an emotional story that I am so thankful I got to read and enjoyed every single moment of their journey. I truly hope Foor continues to write stories of real life marriages, their trouble, their blessing, and the chance at a happily ever after.
