Moonshot by Alessandra Torre

Baseball isn’t supposed to be a game of life and death…

The summer that Chase Stern entered my life, I was seventeen. The daughter of a legend, the Yankees were my family, their stadium my home, their dugout my workplace. My focus was on the game. Chase … he started out as a distraction. A distraction with sex appeal poured into every inch of his six foot frame. A distraction who played like a god and partied like a devil.

I tried to stay away. I couldn’t.
Then, the team started losing.
Women started dying.

And everything in my world broke apart.

Moonshot Thunderclap

To say this novel was a roller coaster is an understatement. What Alessandra Torre does with this tale is literally a home run. The connection that Chase and Ty have right from the start is sizzling. That first sentence he says to her lingers. And OH does it ever change the ball game for these two.
When they meet Ty is only 17. She’s the daughter of a player, works with the team etc, Enter Chase who gets traded to the Yankees and the passion heats up fast though they try to deny it. Their love is one of those beautiful things that happens once in a lifetime. When things go south and Chase has to leave the team. Ty has to make some really hard choices that will forever change the course of her life.
Four years later, while married, Ty still loves Chase but never sought him out. Then all bets are off when he’s traded back to the team and you can soooo feel that fire between the two of them. Like it says in the description of the book, women start to die. I refuse to give out spoilers but let me say it adds an amazing twist to this story and left me guessing the whole time what was going to happen. In the end, love does conquer all. These two find their way back together.

Overall, this story flowed amazingly and I love the banter and the twists involved. It left me wanting more. This is the first book I have read by Torre and I will be going back for more. Her unique storytelling is one of a kind and I highly recommend this book if you love baseball, second chance love and some twists!
