About Chasing Power: ChasingPower-CPhillips-FINAL (1) For Keiran Saysin, protecting the fairy population from humans is more than a job. It is passion and his duty to the realm. Since Eero’s revolution failed—and the discovery of fairy power lying dormant in some of the human population, that job hasn’t been easy. Now that his sister and her husband are welcoming a set of twins, old enemies have come out of hiding, hoping the children will a serve as a key to reclaiming what has been stripped from them.   Enter Annie Valentine, the genetic researcher Daniel’s mother has employed. Keiran knows the smart thing to do is cast a spell and push the human away, but something about the way she stands toe to toe and eye to eye has him forgetting that getting involved with a human could cost him everything he values, including his power.   Chasing Power Sale Chasing Power (The Realm’s Salvation, book 3) Amazon Print: http://amzn.to/1TGy2T8 Createspace print: https://www.createspace.com/6305663 Amazon: http://amzn.to/1Uc0coC Kobo: https://store.kobobooks.com/en-us/ebook/chasing-power-2 Barnes and Noble: http://bit.ly/1Uc1kbA iTunes: https://itunes.apple.com/us/book/id1117952534 ARe: http://bit.ly/25HPgas   Fairyproof (The Realm’s Salvation, book 1) Amazon (Kindle) - http://amzn.to/28PSgsH   Council Courtship (The Realm’s Salvation, book 2) Amazon - http://amzn.to/290wlB1

Excerpt:

Had Keiran made the trip back to the city by his preferred mode of travel, it would have taken less than a second to cover the eighty-eight miles from the farmhouse to the Chicago’s River district. Instead, he’d made the nearly two-hour trek in the small compact car he’d rented to drive Annie home. Twenty-four hours earlier, he would have dreaded being trapped in a car with a human for a long drive. Now, as he pulled the Camry up to the curb of the high-rise apartment building, disappointment welled in his gut.
Chances were he’d never see Annie again.
“Thank you for giving me a ride.”
He laid his arm over her bucket seat, so he could twist his body to face her. “Are you kidding me? It’s the least I could do after all you did to help my sister and the babies.”
“I’m glad I could do something. I didn’t feel very helpful.”
“Would you like me to stick around? Give you a ride to work?” The words flew from Keiran’s mouth before he had time to think them through or censor himself. From what he’d seen in the last day, she wasn’t helpless or hapless. She could get herself around, and she certainly didn’t need him, but the car was filled with the heat and static electricity of his power bouncing off the metal frame, and her absorbing every bit of the chemistry between them—his power and her attraction to it—was thick. It was making his temperature rise and his head spin. Or, at least, that’s how he wanted to twist it right now.
“Oh no! Thank you, but I’m sure you have to get work too.”
He tapped his fingers against the steering wheel. “I do have a bunch of paperwork waiting for me on my desk, but it’s not like it’s going to get up and walk away.” Good God, what was he saying? These attempts at being cute and clever had to be coming off as lame.
Annie did the polite thing and chuckled. “Still, I don’t want to be any more of a bother.” She pulled her bag over her shoulder and reached for the car door.
Something in Keiran couldn’t let her walk away. He touched her arm and opened his mouth to say something, anything to make her think she should spend more time with him.
At his touch she rocked her weight to the other hip, giving him her gaze again. “You’re going to think I’m really forward. And I promise you, I never do this, but would you like to have dinner tonight?”
A genuine smile turned his lips and curled his toes. “I was just going to ask you the same thing.”
“Really? Good!” She twisted the handle of her bag.
Was she as nervous about this as he was? Geez. What a couple they made.
Couple? Whoa! Slow down. A date. Nothing more.
“Does six work for you?”
Her words pulled him out of his argument with himself. “Perfect. I’ll pick you up here?”
