Unstabel by S.E. Hall

Title: Unstable
Author: S.E. Hall
Genre: Contemporary Romance

You can put up a front… but destiny already has your back

After eight years, Henley Calvert is headed home. Back to the family farm and small town she left behind, never to be thought of again.
Too much regret and shame to bear.
But she’s the only one left to see to her family’s legacy, so she must return to Ashfall and face all the ghosts that haunt her.
****
Gatlin Holt, the family farmhand, awaits her arrival, and lends a hand—in more ways than one. He reacquaints Henley with the lay of the land while helping her heal her soul with a new outlook on life.
Yet every time she thinks some peace may be within reach, Henley hits another roadblock. The biggest of which is Keaton Cash—her childhood nemesis who owns the farm next door.
****
And no, it’s not a love triangle. That’s impossible when Henley’s heart is closed, incapable of love.

“No, Keaton. I was bored and thought I’d come play ‘tag’ with ‘em for a little while.”
“Then you’re doing a helluva job, ‘cause they’re fixin’ to tag ya back.”
What’s he blathering about now? I turn and look…but refuse to sigh or show any sign of defeat…that some of the cows, are in fact, wandering back into the field I just shooed them out of.
Really? I seem to remember—open the gate to where the food is—they’ll go. So why they’re not cooperating now, in what has to be the first time since Noah let two of them on the Arc, has to be some weird conspiracy just to embarrass me in front of Keaton.
“Let me help you,” he says too kindly, moving to do so before I can refuse.
He uses his hat to swipe at the few remaining anarchist cows, sending them on their way. And Lord knows why, but I take a moment to peruse him…see just exactly how he turned out, physically anyway.
Hair still as black as the Stetson in his hand, jeans still as tight as he’s always played his cards to his chest. Every movement precise and purposeful, nothing wasted, just like he’s always been: good at everything.
Except recognizing value in the most valuable.
Back in the day, he’d been the boy to watch. A football star, a rodeo champ…and watch them they did—every girl in town.

E Hall continues to amaze me as a reader with each new book she writes.  She’s proven she can write the coming of age stories and the new adult stories filled with wit and humor.  Sexy steamy love stories, yep, Hall’s conquered that story line too. With Unstable, Hall extends her writing that much more by giving us an emotionally charged, riveting story that will leave you breathless until the very end.  She’s now managed to give you the heartbreak along with all the other characteristics she’s known for creating.

For the first time in years Henley has to face the fears that drove her away.  She has struggles, deeply complex emotions, thoughts and feelings that will engage you until the very end.  Hall keeps you guessing as you read Henley’s story by creating well thought out plot lines, characters and circumstances that’ll have you mad one minute and crying the next. Unstable gives you all the humor, wit, and sexy hot scenes that we have come to expect from her, but this time she adds in some heartbreak and angst. This one will leave you absolutely engrossed, with your stomach in knots, unable to put down your kindle.
Unstable is a story of a girl who is running from the unimaginable pain of her past. She is forced to deal with her past, and the loss of her estranged mother all at the same time.
I have been a huge S.E. Hall fan for forever. I love all of her books but this one has taken over a piece of my heart and has worked its way up to my new favorite!
Wow I loved this book, from the first page I was hooked I hated that I had to stop reading it and couldn't wait to get right back to it! I have only recently found SE Hall, her book filthy foreign exchange being the first of her books that I had read but I am now scrolling through her back catalogue and adding them to my TBR because of how much I enjoyed Unstable. The books begins with Henley having to return to her home town after being gone for the last 8 years and she is hesitant about it. What follows is her journey of not only excepting her past but coming to terms with what she needs to do get herself a happily ever after. There are 2 other characters who take a lead role in the book and both Gatln and Keaton have the ability to be the men for Henley so the relationship she has with both is very interesting. But Keaton and his alpha male relationship views made him my dream book boyfriend! Gatlin to me was the brother Henley never had and needed. This book touched on several hard to broach subjects but the way that they were dealt with was phenomenal I couldn't wait to talk to another person who had read the book as soon as I finished just so that I could get all my feelings about the book out! I cannot say enough good things a out this book, it is amazing you will not be sorry that you downloaded it! It definitely takes a spot in my top 5 books of 2016! My review is slightly vague as I do not want to give any spoilers away so all I can say is of you like a good old fashioned cowboy romance then this book will hit all the spots!
