I fell in love with Thomas Wells and knew he was my forever.
I was sixteen when I gave him my heart.
Our love was the kind to last a lifetime.
But Thomas was broken.
The first day we met he told me he was going to become a Navy SEAL.
At nineteen he enlisted.
At twenty he married me.
At twenty five he left me pregnant and didn't turn back.
I knew he was suffering….
I also knew I couldn't save him.
He left me broken.
I was scared and alone.
Until I met Ryder St. John a wounded soldier…
He was lost.
I was lost.
Together we made sense.
I fell in love again…
What Ryder forgot to mention was that he held a secret so explosive that it could shatter both our worlds.
This is one emotionally gripping story that will shatter then repair your heart. My heart broke for Halo throughout the story then when things come to light, it was a omg! I can relate with Halo about being a single mom and doing things on her own. I think that's why she was attached to Ryder the way she was. I pulled the same thing! Anyway, The bond these two shared right off the bat was amazing. They had the right chemistry and the right bond. Ryder, with everything he went through, I felt so horrible for him. To struggle and not know is not something I think I could go through. It takes a strong person and a fighter like Ryder.
I won't lie. I figured out some stuff early on but it was still a shock and surprise what happens. Overall, I felt this book hit all the right notes, great storyline, lots of emotion and chemistry. Great character build. I would highly recommend this book if you want something with a twist!
