MAYDAY, MAYDAY, MAYDAY…This is the sailing vessel Lucky Day.
Finn Cohen isn’t a survivalist. He likes computers and internet-researched his way into the final round of contenders for a new type of reality show. The premise? Spend 30 days on a deserted island with a woman he’s never met, and pass the tests the producers give them. Sounds easy enough. He just hopes he gets stuck with the hot chick he can’t stop staring at.
Penniless is exactly what Jessa McDaniel is. She’s living in her car, working under the table wherever she can…which, without a high school education is about all she can do. She needs to get on the show. She needs the money. Jessa is confident she can survive. She’s been doing it since she was old enough to remember. She just hopes the producers don’t put her with the stupid guy that keeps staring at her.
Will the pair last thirty days under harsh conditions? Or will the producers’ tasks have them crying Mayday sooner than we’d like?
Two souls. One goal: Sink or Swim.

I love a great reality series.  I also am seriously in love with a great romance novel, so when those two collide you can expect me to be one girl surrounded by bliss, happiness and unicorns.  So, when I hear CL Bond one of my favorite authors was writing a reality based romance, I was waving my hands saying “Sign me up! Sign me up now!”  Bond didn’t disappoint!

In MAYDAY, Bond tells us the tale of a two friends who find love on a deserted island. Bound together by an evil reality show producer, their shortcomings, and their fears, Finn and Jessa struggle to survive even if that means letting their vulnerabilities show allowing their chemistry to emerge.

There was so much about this book I loved.  Finn was absolutely just the sweetest guy ever. Never giving up, never pushing, but always being there.  His actions within this novel make every young woman’s dreams come to fruition.  You can’t help but love him.  Jessa is strong, independent, and has so many layers to her character. You can’t help but relish in each single layer of her walls built up to protect Finn slowly come crashing down to reveal the innocence and vulnerable Jessa.

There were so many jaw droppingly wonderful moments in this story.  I couldn’t help but fall in love while I read it from cover to cover in a few hours.  Bond is an amazing storyteller further establishing my love of her craft with each new novel she releases.  I can’t wait for the next one!
